I am just as confused as Zurin on how to differentiate between a banana cake and a banana bread. Since I got a whole bunch of bananas in the fridge and thanks to her, I decided to give her recipe a try. Oh, Boy! I'm not disappointed. It's moist with just the right amount of sweetness. Need I say more ..... Go and give it a try..... here's the recipe.....

I decided to throw in some choc bits as well.....

STARBUCKS BANANA WALNUT BREAD

2 cups flour
1 teaspoon bicarbonate soda
1 egg
1/4 teaspoon salt
1-1 1/8 cup sugar
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 tablespoon buttermilk
1 orange zest
1 cup mashed banana
juice from 1/2 orange
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
some rolled oats for topping (I didn't use)
1/3 cup chopped walnuts

~ Grease and flour a loaf tin measuring 9" x 5" x 3". Preheat oven 350 F.
~ Whisk together the flour, bicarbonate soda and salt, keep aside.
~ In another bowl beat egg, sugar and oil until pale and well combined.
~ Add sifted ingredients to the egg/oil mixture, adding buttermilk as you go along then
the mashed bananas.
~ Add in the 1/2 cup of walnuts and give it a good stir.
~ Pour batter into the prepared loaf tin. Level out and scatter1/3 chopped walnuts and then
some rolled oats over the top and bake for 50 - 60 minutes or until skewer inserted in the
centre comes out clean.
~ If the top gets too brown before its done, cover it with a piece of foil.

Raya Snippets

Part and parcel of Raya activities. Besides munching non-stop lazing infront of the tv, posing infront of the camera is a must. Here goes.....

One for the album, on the 1st day Raya in JB at my mom's place

Pak Uda, his anak and anak buah. Rasanya Pak Uda yang terlebih over acting.

What did I told you? Pak Uda again joining the kids playing 'bunga api'.

This time round, it is Pak Su's time clowning around. Look at Miss V, trying to impersonate Faizal Tahir I guess. My two boys ~ Jejaka Impian Malaya~ hahaha :)))

Another arrangement of goodies and what not that certainly adds up colour to your raya...

Hamper 1

And these baskets of homemade goodies, that were made with tender loving care, sure do add cheer to the receiver..... Our thanks to Pn Zuraidah and Pn Sharifah Noor for the support given.

P/S: Thanks Ina and Mopie for being the 'orang tengah'. Just couldn't thank you guys enough, maklumlah business jarak jauh.

Kuih Raya

First and foremost, thousand apologies for the long silence. We were unable to post as often as we would love to due to our hectic schedule. But since Ramadhan has gone, the workload certainly has reduced tremendously. We hope we are still not late in wishing everybody Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri and Maaf Zahir Batin.

Just a peek of what's been going on for the last couple of week.
