I am just as confused as Zurin on how to differentiate between a banana cake and a banana bread. Since I got a whole bunch of bananas in the fridge and thanks to her, I decided to give her recipe a try. Oh, Boy! I'm not disappointed. It's moist with just the right amount of sweetness. Need I say more ..... Go and give it a try..... here's the recipe.....

I decided to throw in some choc bits as well.....

STARBUCKS BANANA WALNUT BREAD

2 cups flour
1 teaspoon bicarbonate soda
1 egg
1/4 teaspoon salt
1-1 1/8 cup sugar
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 tablespoon buttermilk
1 orange zest
1 cup mashed banana
juice from 1/2 orange
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
some rolled oats for topping (I didn't use)
1/3 cup chopped walnuts

~ Grease and flour a loaf tin measuring 9" x 5" x 3". Preheat oven 350 F.
~ Whisk together the flour, bicarbonate soda and salt, keep aside.
~ In another bowl beat egg, sugar and oil until pale and well combined.
~ Add sifted ingredients to the egg/oil mixture, adding buttermilk as you go along then
the mashed bananas.
~ Add in the 1/2 cup of walnuts and give it a good stir.
~ Pour batter into the prepared loaf tin. Level out and scatter1/3 chopped walnuts and then
some rolled oats over the top and bake for 50 - 60 minutes or until skewer inserted in the
centre comes out clean.
~ If the top gets too brown before its done, cover it with a piece of foil.
